From the "Nobel Prize Holy Land" to the hub of the biotechnology industry: Switzerland's path to success

Dr. Michael Altorfer is the CEO of the Swiss Biotechnology Association and has over 20 years of extensive experience in the field of life sciences. He has worked in the research and development of new drugs at internationally renowned pharmaceutical companies such as Sandoz, Ciba Geigy, and Roche, and held project management positions at UBS Warburg investment bank, accumulating profound industry insights and management experience. These cross-border career experiences have given him a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the biopharmaceutical industry. Dr. Altorfer visited the WuXi AppTec Health Industry Forum in 2021 to share the unique development path of Swiss biopharmaceuticals. This year, we interviewed Dr. Altorfer again to have in-depth discussions on the key factors driving sustained innovation in the biopharmaceutical industry. He pointed out that global collaboration and technological innovation will play a decisive role in the future industrial landscape, and shared his profound insights on industry development trends.
